Please note that you may need to wait for 15 minutes after the vaccine for observation.

A tetanus vaccine is a type of vaccine that protects against tetanus, a serious and potentially fatal disease caused by bacteria that enter the body through wounds. The vaccine works by stimulating the body to produce antibodies that can neutralise the toxin released by the bacteria. The vaccine is usually given as part of a combination vaccine that also protects against other diseases, such as diphtheria, pertussis, polio, and hepatitis B123. The vaccine is recommended for children and adults, and requires several doses to maintain immunity.

You can book an appointment at our clinic through our convenient online booking system, over the phone, or by visiting us in person during our operating hours.
Before you can get the tetanus vaccine, you'll need to have a general medical consultation with our doctor. This is just to make sure the vaccine is right for you based on your health and medical history.
You need to bring your identification, such as your passport or driving licence, and your consent form, if required. You can download and print the consent form or complete it at 24DOC reception. You should also wear a loose-fitting shirt or blouse that allows easy access to your upper arm.
The flu vaccine is given as a shot in the upper arm for adults and older children, or as a spray in the nose for younger children. The tetanus vaccine is given as a shot in the upper arm for all ages. The vaccines are usually painless or cause only mild discomfort.
You need one dose of the flu vaccine every year, as the flu virus changes over time. You need five doses of the tetanus vaccine in your lifetime, with the first three doses given in childhood, the fourth dose given at 4-5 years of age, and the fifth dose given in 1 st year of second level school. You may also need a booster dose of the tetanus vaccine if you have a wound that is at risk of infection. You should wait at least four weeks between doses of the same vaccine.
